About Me

Hi, I’m glad you’re here! If we work together, I will get to know you very well, and it’s understandable you would like to know a thing or two about me.

Austin has been my home base since 1990. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin and since then, I’ve lived in Sri Lanka, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to New York City, where I earned my Master of Science in Social Work degree at Columbia University. While in New York, I was swept up by the corporate world and worked as a communications consultant for more than a decade. I’ve also worked and volunteered in settings as varied as Integral Care, Austin State Hospital, ACC, the United Nations and the U.S. State Department, with populations ranging from former prisoners to people with intellectual disabilities to immigrants and refugees.

Most recently, I worked as a Senior Counselor in a large group practice in a variety of roles spanning Mentor to Recruitment Manager to founding member of the Bias & Inclusivity Committee. Creating a space welcoming to all identities is extremely important to me. I have engaged in numerous trainings and self-reflective work to increase my knowledge of identities different from my own, and recognize this is a lifelong endeavor that I recommit to every day.

Out in the wild, I’m an avid long-distance walker, a backpacker, a writer, an animal lover, and a hopeless chocolate chip cookie monster.
